Angelique's struggles with fame as a female

Hi, my name is Angelique Lockheart and I am a rising star within the music industry. Through my journey as a musician, I have came to realise the true extent of the inequalities within society. From a very young age, I was always told I was not good enough to make it within the music industry. For a while, I believed this was true, but always wanted to know why people would say that to me. As I grew older, I started to see why people may have said that I would not make it as a singer, it was because I was a woman. As the days go bye, it becomes more and more evident that women are treated unfairly and this needs to change. I would like to use the platform I have worked so hard to achieve to spread awareness on the mistreatment on different social groups that are under represented within the media.

I have partnered with Ardent to create a feminist magazine that will act as a sense of comfort for a female audience. However, this magazine is not just for female audiences, I would encourage more individuals from different social groups to read it too!

Within modern society, there is an undeniable divide in regards to gender. Still to this day, women are being treated unfairly by the likes of men. There is no question that there has been change within society over the years, however more awareness needs to be spread. We as the producers of Ardent believe that it is important to represent the under represented within our magazine.

Hi my name is Callum Webb and I come from a world of hate and discrimination against my community. Throughout my life I have always questioned my identity as I felt I had not fully discovered myself as a person. When I came out as gay at the age of 16, I had a multitude of support from the people closest to me. However, life is not always full of sunshine and roses and I had to face a plethora of obstacles when coming out.

Growing up, I was always afraid to express my true self, and still to this day I feel the same. Why do we live in a society that does not fully accept you for who you are? Through the many obstacles I have faced, I have only came out as a stronger and better version of myself. This is the main reason why i partnered up with Ardent to create a magazine that would put the spotlight on the LGBTQ+ community so that we feel seen.

LGBTQ+ Life

Over a course of time, the LGBTQ+ community has fought for the rights of anyone which associates themselves with it. There is no question that there is still hatred towards the LGBTQ+ community from our society till this day. Our aim in creating a magazine revolving around this topic is to make LGBTQ+ members feel seen as well as project our magazines values.
